Utah Drone Laws

Cannot use drones for surveillance without consent
Restricted from flying over wildfire areas
Law enforcement requires warrants for drone surveillance
National parks (Zion, Bryce Canyon, etc.) are strict no-fly zones for drones

Privacy Laws

Utah Code 63G-18 addresses drone surveillance and privacy protections.

Penalties

Surveillance violations: Class B misdemeanor. Wildfire interference: state penalties in addition to federal.

Note: In addition to state penalties, federal FAA penalties may also apply. Civil penalties for FAA violations can reach $27,500, and criminal penalties can include fines up to $250,000 and imprisonment.
